What we know about you, and why.

Northeast Media Associates (NEMA, we, us) is a multimedia public relations firm at 141 Brigham Street, South Portland, Maine 04106. This policy covers nemediaassociates.com and any page that links to it. It explains what we collect when you visit, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

The short version: we collect what you type into our forms, some basic traffic data, and nothing else. We do not sell any of it.

Information you give us directly:

• Contact form: your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message field.
• Missing page reports: the message you write, the address of the page you were trying to reach, the page that sent you there if your browser tells us, and your email address if you choose to leave one. The email is optional and we say so on the form.
• Email and phone: anything you send or say when you reach us at angie@nemediaassociates.com or 207.653.0365.

Information collected automatically:

• Site traffic: which pages on this site were viewed, when, and the page that referred the visit. We tie those views together with a random identifier that lives in your browser only until you close the tab. It is not linked to your name or email.
• Google Analytics: standard usage data such as approximate location, device and browser type, and how you move through the site. Google sets cookies to do this. See our Cookie Policy for the details and how to opt out.
• Fonts: this site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those files from Google's servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request.

There is no public account system on this site. The only people who sign in are NEMA staff who manage the site's content, and their account details are handled internally.

• To answer you. A contact form message goes to Angie Helton, who reads it and replies.
• To fix the site. Missing page reports tell us where links are broken so we can repair them.
• To understand traffic. Page view data and Google Analytics tell us which pages people read and where they came from, which shapes what we publish next.
• To keep records of who has approached us about work, so we can follow up and so we are not starting from scratch if you come back later.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build marketing profiles from it, and we do not send newsletters or automated email sequences from this site.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with the services that run this site on our behalf:

• Base44, the platform this site is built and hosted on. Form submissions, missing page reports, and page view records are stored there.
• Google, through Google Analytics and Google Fonts, as described above.

Beyond that, we would disclose information only if the law required it, if it were needed to protect someone's safety or our legal rights, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy would still apply to it.

Nothing you send us through the contact form is treated as confidential client work. If we go on to work together, the confidentiality terms in that engagement agreement take over.

• Contact form submissions: for as long as the conversation is live and afterward as a business record, unless you ask us to delete them.
• Missing page reports: until the problem is fixed and reviewed, then periodically cleared.
• Page view records: reviewed and cleared periodically. They are not linked to you.
• Google Analytics data: retained according to the settings in our Google Analytics account and Google's own policies.

Wherever you live, you can email us at angie@nemediaassociates.com to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. We will confirm what we did within 30 days. We do not charge for this and we will not treat you differently for asking. If your state or country gives you additional rights over your data, we honor those too.

To stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits, install Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or block cookies in your browser. Our Cookie Policy walks through both. This site does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because there is no agreed standard for what they should mean.

The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are stored on Base44's infrastructure behind access controls, and only NEMA staff who need to see them can. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that one is. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you and any regulator the law requires us to notify.

This site is for businesses and the people who run them. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us something through the site, email us and we will remove it.

The site links out to our social channels, to client sites, and to news outlets that have covered our clients' work. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

When we change something here, we update the effective date at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will say so plainly on this page for a reasonable period after it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated policy.
